Drywall & Plaster Repair in Connecticut.

Door-knob holes, anchor damage, and decades-old plaster cracks — repaired so the patch disappears, sanded smooth and ready for paint.

What drywall work covers

Six sub-services, dust controlled.

Hole patching

From nail dimples to doorknob craters — backed and blended.

Plaster crack stabilization

Old cracks keyed and reinforced, not just skimmed over.

Texture matching

The surrounding finish replicated so the repair vanishes.

Solid backing added

Behind anything that must hold weight later — bars, rails, TVs.

Priming & paint-ready

Sealed and smoothed so the painter — or you — can finish clean.

Stain flagging

Water stains patched — and the moisture source identified first.

Plaster country

Half our walls here aren't drywall at all.

Walk into a pre-war home in New Britain or Wethersfield and the walls are almost certainly plaster over wood lath — hard, brittle, and unforgiving of shortcuts. Modern joint compound over old plaster cracks again within a year.

The right fix respects the material: stabilize the lath, key the patch, feather it wide, and match the texture. It takes longer. It also lasts — which is the whole point of hiring someone who knows the difference.

In the post-war capes around Newington and Berlin, it's drywall — but the same discipline applies: dust contained, furniture masked, room vacuumed before we leave.

How we keep the mess contained

  • Floors and furniture masked before sanding
  • Vacuum-assisted sanding where it matters
  • The room left usable the same day

Most families pair this with painting so the repaired wall blends perfectly in one visit.

Common questions

About drywall & plaster repair.

Can you match a 1940s plaster texture?

Usually, yes. We replicate the surrounding finish by hand; perfect matches on heavy textures depend on the original, and we'll tell you honestly.

How big a hole is too big for a patch?

Up to a full panel section is still handyman territory. Anything structural — a sagging ceiling, water-softened framing — gets referred properly.

Do you paint the patch afterwards?

We prime it paint-ready, and can finish the wall or room too — many clients add painting to the same visit.

Send a photo of the wall — we'll quote it from there.
